A coffee that grew out of a social project
Premium blends, roasted at a traditional Swiss roastery — and a promise that began in Tibasosa, Boyacá: 1 USD per kilogram for children’s education.
Every sip supports children’s education
With every sip of MAXIM coffee, you help children and young people in Colombia improve their quality of life — in school and in sport.
For every kilogram sold, we donate 1 US dollar to Agrosolidaria Tibasosa. These donations give disadvantaged Colombian families the chance to build their own future through education — and at the same time reduce the risk of drug addiction and violence.
In alliance with Fundación Pies Descalzos
The MAXIM Education Fund was originally created together with Asociación SEMILLAS and the Fundación Pies Descalzos — founded in 1997 by the Colombian singer Shakira.
The non-governmental organisation runs programmes for Colombian children and young people affected by violence, social injustice and inequality.
Our story on film
A look at Tibasosa, Boyacá — where our commitment began.
Why MAXIM exists
Most coffee brands start with a product and then look for a story. With us, it was the other way round.
In 1992, in the municipality of Tibasosa in Boyacá, Colombia, Asociación Semillas was founded — an association for sustainable development. Its approach was different from the start: not distributing aid from outside, but strengthening communities’ ability to shape their own development. That same year the Reserva Natural Semillas nature reserve was created; in 1993 a community management project followed.
Two further organisations grew out of it and remain closely connected to this day: Agrosolidaria (2006), a solidarity economy network for smallholder families — and Urdimbre Radio (2022), the community radio station on 100.6 FM.
Out of that commitment, MAXIM Kaffee GmbH was founded in Munich in 2012: carefully composed premium blends, roasted at a traditional Swiss roastery, for private and business customers. For every kilogram sold, 1 USD flows back into the network’s education projects. In 2017 our own Barista Academy in Munich was added.
“Every cup of MAXIM is a small contribution to a better future for children in Colombia.”
